10 Best Baby Soaps in India to Buy Online
Giving your squirmy, tiny newborn a bath (initially) can be truly nerve-racking. I’ve experienced that for myself. However, the right products can give you all the confidence and excitement that you need. But what you use matters a lot.
So, here are some top-rated and bestselling baby soaps in India that are admired for their gentleness, natural ingredients, and safety. Scroll down to see which they are.
1. Himalaya Gentle Baby Soap (Value Pack)
Himalaya’s Gentle Baby Soap is exclusively formulated to cleanse as well as condition the baby’s soft skin effectively and gently. With regular use, it leaves the skin hydrated, nourished, and super soft. That’s because of the ingredients that are used in it.
Infused with the goodness of Almond Oil, Olive oil, and Vitamins, this baby soap promises nothing but a glowing and healthy skin. While the vitamin E in the olive oil softens, protects, and nourishes the skin, almond oil prevents chafing and ensures that the skin is deeply moisturised. It is mild, natural, clinically tested, and ideal for everyday use.
My Verdict:Hypoallergenic: check. Clinically-tested: check. A wonderful fragrance that isn’t overpowering: check. This baby soap is mild, safe, and effective. It’s ideal for normal skin. The almond and olive extracts is what actually sets this product apart from other baby soap brands.
And not to mention those thousands of positive reviews that parents gave it. Since soaps are something we all need all the time to clean our babies, I usually buy them in bulk so that I don’t have to keep ordering. Most importantly, this saves me money too. Himalaya is a brand I always trust. I’ve been using this soap for months. It’s mild and moisturising. So, without a doubt, this is the best baby soap in India.
2. Johnson’s Baby Soap (Value Pack)
Baby’s skin is not just delicate but also has a protective and natural coating of moisturising oils, which covers the outer layer. When these natural oils are washed off, the skin becomes vulnerable to irritation, rashes, and dryness.
And looks like Johnson baby brand has understood this and that’s why they have made a soap (formulated exclusively for babies) to enrich their skin with enough moisturisation. With 1/4th baby lotion & vitamin E, this soap helps preserve the skin’s moisture levels. Moreover, it is clinically proven and free from chemicals. So, it’s an ideal pick for daily bathing.
My Verdict:Though Johnson’s were in the controversies for their immense lawsuits and using mineral oil in their baby products, it’s not the case any more. Looks like they have learnt their lesson and their products are launched into the market after lots of clinical trials and testing.
So, you can feel relieved now. I keep switching my son’s soap (and initially, this is important because you want to find out which soap suits your baby’s skin type). Speaking of this soap in specific, I’ve used it and here’s my honest review.
It has a creamy and lathers up quickly. It leaves the skin soft and supple. It is free from parabens, phthalates, and other harsh chemicals. Moreover, it’s dermatologist tested. So, you can pick this up blindly.
3. Mamaearth Moisturising Bathing Bar for Babies
Mamaearth’s moisturising baby soap gently cleanses, moisturises, and nourishes the delicate skin of both newborns and kids. This rich crème soap formula is not just gentle but also safe to be used from head to toe.
The reason it’s one of the top-rated baby soaps in India is due to the ingredients used in it. Loaded with oatmeal, shea butter, and goat milk, this soap leaves the skin soft and smooth. Most importantly, it has a pH of 5.5 (balanced), making it ideal to keep your baby’s skin healthy.
My Verdict: The first thing that I see in any baby soap is if it’s clinically tested and hypoallergenic. This soap passes those factors. Moreover, it is dermatologically tested to ensure that your baby’s delicate skin isn’t irritated. If your baby’s skin is itchy, dry, or eczema-prone, this soap is a perfect pick. It’s great for newborns too.
4. Mee Mee Nourishing Baby Soap with Milk & Almond Extracts
Mee Mee is yet another well-admired brand in the world of baby care products. Speaking of their baby soap in specific, it is super nourishing and gentle. It’s ideal for newborns as well as kids.
Made with almond oil, aloe vera, and milk, this baby soap can never go wrong. It helps in preserving and hydrating the skin deeply. It meets all the international safety standards. So, go for it!
My Verdict: You can Pamper your cutie right from his or her birth with Mee Mee’s Nourishing Baby Soap. Because that’s what I did. Right from my son’s (Aryan) birth, this was one of those soap brands that I’ve been using and it’s always been a joyous experience. My aunt introduced me to this brand and has been one of my favourites since then. It is free from chemicals, mild, and moisturising. So, this is something I would recommend.
5. Curatio Tedibar Bathing Soap Bar
Curatio Tedibar is another excellent baby soap you might want to use. It’s a soap-free bar which has a skin-friendly pH of 5.5. Exclusively formulated with mild surfactants, this soap gently cleans, making it soft and supple. But it cannot be used on newborns. It’s ideal to use only after 1 year of age.
My Verdict: Curatio’s Tedibar Soap is the first syndet in India that features a 5.5 pH. It’s an alkali-free and soap-free bar that’s made with gentle surfactants. But don’t use it if your baby is newborn. It’s only meant for babies that are above 1 year. My pediatrician recommended it when my baby developed some rashes. If you are still not sure, I strongly recommend you to first talk to your doctor.
6. Baby Dove Rich Moisture Soap Bar (Value Pack)
In the initial months of your baby’s birth, the skin is still under the stage of continuous development. Let me also tell you that your baby’s skin is 30% thinner than adults. Which means that it’s even more vulnerable to dryness and damage. Also, the skin’s barrier is more weak too—meaning that he or she can lose moisture up to 5 times quicker than your skin does.
To retain that moisture, you need a good baby soap like this one from Baby Dove. This baby soap has a neutral pH formula which is not just hypoallergenic but also tested by ophthalmologists (to make sure it’s tear-free), pediatricians, and dermatologists (for skin safety). So, it is safe, gentle, and moisturising. What else do you need?
My Verdict: I have used this soap a couple of times and it is super soft. Its pH neutral formula (enriched with ¼ of moisturising cream) ensures that the skin is moisturised too. However, I don’t always use it. Once in a blue moon. Not because I don’t like the product but rather because I use the other ones mentioned on this list quite often.
7. SebaMed Baby Cleansing Soap Bar
Next on the list of best baby soaps in India is SebaMed. This soap bar has 5.5 pH. It is mild and sugar-based. Sebamed’s baby soap is free from harsh chemicals and irritants. Since it’s made of botanical ingredients, the reported incidence of any allergic reactions is only 0.000003%. This is a tear-free formula and doesn’t contain formaldehydes or parabens.
It is 100% soap & alkali free with refatting compounds that protect against lipid removal as well as dryness. It is fortified with amino acids, vitamins, and wheat germ oil that hydrates and nourishes the baby’s skin while reducing water loss.
My Verdict: Personally, I love their baby oil more. Speaking of this soap bar, it’s not too good nor too bad. It’s on the average. I have used this only once. However, it supports natural lipid balance. It’s clinically proven. So, it’s worth a try. If you like it, continue it. Else, pick something else from this list.
8. Chicco Baby Moments Soap
Chicco Moments Baby Soap is exclusively designed with natural ingredients that benefit the baby’s delicate skin. With regular use, it helps in keeping the baby’s skin moisturised and soft. The formulation is not only safe and gentle but also free from harsh chemicals like Parabens, Alcohol, SLES, SLS, Dyes, and Artificial colours.
My Verdict: This soap is ideal in preventing moisture loss and skin dryness. I like the fact that they use ingredients that are not just natural but also are of vegetarian-origin. Moreover, it’s dermatologically tested and clinically safe.
9. Goodness.me Baby Soap (Certified Organic by ECOCERT)
Goodness.me’s is a Baby Soap that’s Certified-Organic and is super mild on the skin. It leaves the skin not only squeaking clean but also well moisturised after each bath. It’s made with the goodness of Jojoba oil, Chamomile, and Olive oil, making it a perfect recipe to beautiful skin.
My Verdict:Honestly, I stumbled upon this product only a month back and my bad, it was a “lockdown” in India at that time and Amazon was temporarily closed. Then. I got too busy with other things that I didn’t really have the time to place one. But I will be ordering this soap soon. First things first—the packaging is simple and classy. I know there are no reviews on Amazon yet, so you don’t really know how good it is. But with all the information the brand has offered, it gives me a strong sense that it is good.
10. Pigeon Transparent Baby Soap with a Case
This soap from Pigeon is certainly one of the best choices for your baby’s foremost bath. It is transparent, gentle, and nourishing. Enriched with jojoba, chamomile, ceramides, and squalene, this baby soap keeps your baby’s skin healthy and soft. The fragrance is mild and lulls your baby to have a peaceful sleep. So, give it a try!
My Verdict:The first time I bought this soap was purely out of excitement. Honestly, that transparent bar and soap case tempted me to order one (He he). It made me remember of my childhood days when I used to get super happy while bathing with pears soap. So, it was out of pure temptation.
But after I used this on my son, I kinda fell in love with it. In fact, I ordered another one and used it on myself too (Yup, I know, it’s funny but I just couldn’t resist it). It has an amazing smell and lathers up really well. It leaves the skin feeling relaxed and refreshed.
